Phase Diagram and Crystal Growth of RBa2Cu3O7-y System

Abstract

Phase diagrams of R2O3(rare earth oxide)-BaO-CuO system have been investigated. The temperature versus concentration diagrams are given on the four binary systems ranging from RBa2Cu3O7-y to CuO, to BaCuO2 3CuO,· to BaCuO2· 4CuO and to 3BaCuO2· 2CuO mixture. Crystals of YBa2Cu3O7-y and NdBa2Cu307-y have been grown by the slow-cooling method in accordance with the phase diagrams of R2O3-BaO-CuO system.
