Isolated Ventricular Septal Defect

The term “isolated ventricular septal defect” is used for those defects in the ventricular septum that occur as the sole significant anomaly in hearts with a concordant atrioventricular connection and a concordant ventriculoarterial connection, be it with normally positioned or with mirror-image atria.
