The earliest ROC econometric model was constructed for economic planning by the staffs of CIECD under the direction of Mr. Tso-yung Wang in the early 1960’s.1) After 1964, model-building work was intensified under the guidance of Dr. T. C. Liu. With his leadership, DGBAS began its model building in 1968. Since then, several versions of econometric models of the Taiwan economy have been constructed by government offices and academic economists.
