Abstract
Lesions that cause visual loss are choroidal neovascular membrane, patchy atrophy, and diffuse chorioretinal atrophy. These lesions are also among those seen as chorioretinal atrophy in the posterior pole. The main cause of visual loss is axial elongation. Also, aging has an influence on fundus changes in the posterior pole.
