Abstract

This book, Near-Field Nano /Atom Optics and Technology, describes the progress of the authors’ recent experimental and theoretical work on nearfield optics, and in particular their studies of the interaction between an optical near field and atoms and materials with nanometric features. To give an idea of the scope of the book, this section offers a brief description of near-field optics and related technologies.
