Abstract
The median nerve, together with the radial nerve and the ulnar nerve, is important in controlling the upper limb. Its disorders cause serious functional problems in the upper limb, especially in the hand. Because it runs through several anatomically constricted regions distal to the elbow, disorders of the median nerve cause entrapment neuropathy, including carpal tunnel syndrome.
