We were compelled to question the generally accepted model of the hair cycle after we developed the subcutaneous tissue shaving method for the treatment of bromidrosis and hyperhidrosis (Inaba and Ezaki 1977; Inaba et al. 1978c; Inaba and Inaba 1986).
