Cardiac Utilization of the Momentum of Blood

  • Chapter
New Horizons for Failing Heart Syndrome

Abstract

It is possible that the momentum of blood flowing out of the ventricle near end-systole plays an important role in the initiation of the decline and formation of the maximum rate of decline in left ventricular pressure. We hypothesize that a healthy heart utilizes this momentum of blood effectively.
