Abstract
The cervical spine is commonly involved in rheumatoid arthritis (RA). The deformities present are atlanto-axial subluxation (AAS), vertical subluxation (VS), and subaxial subluxation (SAS). Patients with these deformities gen-erally also have severe osteoporosis, and the porotic bone is often a difficult problem to treat surgically.
