Abstract

Human nsmtrophil elastase (HNE) and cathepsin G (Cat G) are serine proteases active at neutral pH (1, 2, 3) and both are released from polymorphonuclear (PMN) azurophilic granules during phagocytosis, blood coagulation, strenuous exercise, under the influence of immune complexes, chemotacti c peptides and sodium urate crystals (4).
