Abstract

The pulmonary circulation is controlled by various factors. However, apart from hypoxia, chemical control does not play an important role under physiological circumstances. The main factors which control the pulmonary flow seem to be mechanical properties of the pulmonary artery and the pulmonary vascular beds.
