Abstract
A computer assisted painting apparatus was developed by Kaneko(1991) for generating ‘eels’ for a motion picture. The term ‘cel’ here is a word taken from a celluloid sheet which is traditionally used in animation film. In the above system, however, a cel does not mean a physical sheet but a digitalized static frame in the moving picture. In order to activate the system, computer animation technology has been demanded among well experienced animators to assist skilled painters to save their repetitive works about a moving object.
