Relationship Between Hyperhidrosis and Bromidrosis
Emotional hyperhidrosis (EH) is ordinarily localized in the palms, soles, and axillae. In some cases it may arise from a systemic disease, but it can also occur as a primary idiopathic process. It is one of the localized forms of idiopathic hyperhidrosis. Those individuals who are prone to EH may be embarrassed and socially disadvantaged. Emotional hyperhidrosis, especially in the axillary area, involves only the eccrine glands, and the sweat does not stain clothing in spite of soaking it. On the other hand, axillary bromidrosis is almost always accompanied by a discolorative apocrine hyperhidrosis.
