Several types of surgical procedures have been developed for permanent relief of bromidrosis. These include surgical removal of axillary skin, surgical removal of subcutaneous tissue by the curettage method, the clearance method and other methods including the Inaba method. The ideal surgical treatment provides for good appearance after operation with only a small scar, full removal of the sweat glands, easy movement for the patient after the operation, and a short treatment period during hospitalization.
