Pharmacodynamics of Pipecuronium in Patients with Decreased Renal Function

Abstract

In patients with impaired renal function Pipecuronium (Pip), a long acting relaxant, should not show a significantly prolonged effect, however the range of clinical duration is more variable [Canfell]. Aim of our study was to investigate if dose reduction according to glomerular filtration rate (GFR) and ideal body weight (IBW) varies the time course of action and the ranges.
