Abstract

Previous administration of succinylcholine affects non-depolarizing muscle relaxants (1–3). Succinylcholine accelerates onset and potentiates neuromuscular block (NMB), but data on duration of NMB are controversial. We studied the neuromuscular effects of mivacurium with and without previous administration of succinylcholine as both of these relaxants are destroyed by plasma cholinesterase.
