Summary

The surgical approach for the individual parts of the pelvis is described in detail. The posterior sacral and anterior sacral (Stener’s) approaches are used for the sacrum. The ilioinguinal and posterior iliac approaches are used for the ilium. The transperineal and posterior ischial aproaches are used for the ischiopubic bone. The procedures of sacral amputation, total sacrectomy, and internal hemipelvectomy are also explained, with abundant illustrations.
