Summary
A solitary type II metastasis of renal cell carcinoma was resected after a detailed three-dimensional computerized axial tomography scan was taken which clearly showed the margin of the tumor. Reconstruction of the pelvic ring was not necessary. A standard total hip arthroplasty (THA) was performed, along with bone grafting of the defect in the acetabulum. The patient had been functioning well with a cane in his daily activities, but later died of the disease.
