Epoxidation of 1,4-Naphthoquinones by Electrochemically Generated Hypohalogen Acids

Epoxidation using electrochemically generated hypohalogen acids in organic solvent-water-halide salt systems was investigated. In the CH3CN-H2O-NaI system, the epoxidation of 1,4-naphthoquinones provided the corresponding epoxides in good yields.
