Abstract
This chapter is an overview of the required technologies for resources oriented agro-sanitation system. The discussion includes the concept for building up the agro-sanitation system by selecting element technologies followed by the models for rural and urban area. The key points of the resources oriented sanitation are: (1) the feces, urine, and gray water are the important resources and properties of people; (2) technologies are used for improving their values; (3) recovered resources are used as agricultural resources. In the agro-sanitation system, separation of feces, urine, and gray water at the source is essential for resource recovery. And separated feces, urine and gray water are processed, respectively. The brief introduction of technologies for these resources’ recovery is given in this chapter.
