Abstract
Pattern hair loss may present as a diagnostic challenge. This chapter reviews common non-cicatricial and cicatricial alopecia. A clinical approach outlining the pertinent history, physical examination, and appropriate diagnostic tests is presented. This allows the clinician to make an accurate diagnosis and provide appropriate medical and/or surgical restoration.
