Abstract
The chargino tracks have high \(p_{\mathrm {T}}\), and all background tracks show distinctive \(p_{\mathrm {T}}\) spectra. The signal hypothesis with given values of \(m_{{{\tilde{\chi }}^{\pm }_1}}\) and \(\tau _{{{\tilde{\chi }}^{\pm }_1}}\) is therefore tested based on an extended maximum likelihood fit to the \(p_{\mathrm {T}}\) spectrum of the disappearing-track candidates.
