Nerve Blockade and Interventional Therapy

Abstract

Ultrasound-guided nerve block allows the real-time visualization of needle placement on cross-sectional images, enabling accurate drug injection around the nerve (into the nerve in some cases). This technique is considered to be more accurate and safer than the conventional landmark-based technique. The use of ultrasound guidance improves the success rate of nerve blocks particularly in less experienced clinicians.
