Abstract

  • Plasma exchanges can be indicated when multiple myeloma or Waldenström’s macroglobulinemia is diagnosed, but it is much more important to start the treatment of the underlying diseases themselves.

  • Prompt plasma exchange should be considered when hyperviscosity syndrome is present.
