Choice of Apheresis Therapy

  • Therapeutic plasma exchange volume is usually 1–1.5 times the patient’s plasma volume.

  • Selection of a plasma fractionator (second filter) for double filtration plasmapheresis (DFPP) depends on the size of the pathogenic substance.

  • Evaluating the adsorption affinity of the pathogen will enhance the efficacy of immunoadsorption therapy.

  • A plasma separator (first filter) should not be used for hemodialysis.
