Abstract
In this study, we examined the influence of mesenchymal stem cells growth medium (MSCGM) for STRO-1 positive cells derived from periodontal ligament (PDL) compared with DMEM.
PDL cells cultured in DMEM showed spindle shape. On the other hand, PDL cells cultured in MSCGM for 7 days showed colony formation. The isolation rate of STRO-1 positive cells in MSCGM was 1.57 times higher than that in DMEM in 7 days culture and 2.49 times higher in 14 days culture.
It is suggested that MSCGM is effective to increase the isolation rate of STRO-1 positive cells from PDL.
