Abstract

A major part of biology has become a class of physical and mathematical sciences. We have started to feel, though still a little suspicious yet, that it will become possible to predict biological events that will happen in the future of one’s life and to control some of them if desired so, based upon the understanding of genomic information of individuals and physical and chemical principles governing physiological functions of living organisms at multiple scale and level, from molecules to cells and organs.
