Zusammenfassung

Substanzen mit Wirkungen auf das zentrale Nervensystem sind in der Medizin von größter Bedeutung. Sie dienen u. a. der Anästhesie, lindern Fieber und Schmerzen, verhindern Anfälle, beeinflussen Schlaf und Vigilanz, mildern Brechreiz und werden vor allem mit großem Erfolg in der Psychiatrie eingesetzt.
