Abstract

The starting point of this research was the disproportion between theoretical statements about the importance of national culture as a determinant of individual behavior and the lack of empirical surveys actually examining the effect of national culture on individual behavior in general. This gap becomes more evident when considering whether and how national culture affects managerial information use. While the informational role is generally acknowledged to be one of the most important managerial roles, solid insights into this subject were almost nonexistent.
