Abstract
Im vorliegenden Beitrag wird die Strukturationstheorie von Anthony Giddens zunächst als ein Wissenschaftsprogramm rekonstruiert. Dazu arbeitet der Autor systematisch ontologische, anthropologische und methodologische Aussagen der Strukturationstheorie sowie deren epistemologische Konsequenzen heraus. Auf dieser, den metatheoretischen Charakter der wesentlichen Denkfiguren der Strukturationstheorie präzisierenden Grundlage werden allgemeine Funktionen wissenschaftlichen Arbeitens schlussgefolgert. Anschließend werden diese Funktionen zur Bildung von Wissenschaftszielen verwendet, die konkrete Forschungsvorhaben der Management- und Organisationsforschung, wie etwa theoretische oder empirische Analysen von Branchen, leiten können.
