Der in dieser Arbeit entwickelte CE-Ansatz stellt ein integriertes Managementkonzept für eine erfolgreiche Unternehmensführung in einem dynamischen Marktumfeld dar. Dabei werden unterschiedliche Perspektiven einer Unternehmensstrategie in einem entscheidungsorientierten Modellkonzept vereinigt. Erstens orientieren sich aufgrund einer Kundenperspektive Marktbearbeitungsstrategien im Modell direkt am wahrgenommenen Nettonutzen der Nachfrager. Auf der Basis dieser Nutzenwahrnehmungen ergeben sich die relativen Wettbewerbspositionierungen der Marken im Gesamtmarkt. Zweitens werden durch die Wertorientierung dieses Ansatzes Strategiealternativen aus der Sicht der Unternehmensführung direkt auf der Basis ihrer finanziellen Wirkungen beurteilt. Die ökonomischen Effekte einer Strategie werden im Rahmen einer investitionstheoretischen Betrachtung ermittelt. Drittens antizipieren die Marken im Sinn einer Wettbewerbsperspektive bei der Festlegung optimaler Marktbearbeitungsstrategien bereits bestmögliche Wettbewerbsreaktionen der Konkurrenten. Aufgrund der zusätzlichen Betrachtung eines dynamischen Wettbewerbsumfelds nähert sich das entwickelte CE-Wettbewerbsmodell weiter einer unternehmerischen Marktrealität an, die in vielen Fällen durch einen intensiven Wettbewerb geprägt ist. Gerade die Wettbewerbsmodellierung anhand spieltheoretischer Lösungskonzepte stellt eine Erweiterung bestehender CE-Modelle dar.
In diesem Zusammenhang muss jedoch auf die kritischen Modellannahmen hingewiesen werden, die einer Marktrealität entgegenwirken, vgl. Kapitel 7.3.
