Die Bestimmung optimaler Pläne ist im betriebswirtschaftlichen Bereich kein Selbstzweck, sondern dient dem Erreichen des übergeordneten Ziels der Gewinnmaximierung, das sich aus dem erwerbswirtschaftlichen Prinzip ergibt [Gut83, S. 464ff]. Es erscheint aus diesem Grunde geboten, das zu untersuchende Problemfeld in seiner Einbettung in den unternehmerischen Gesamtzusammenhang zu betrachten, nicht zuletzt, weil die Entscheidungsgrundlage durch die Ergebnisse vorgelagerter Planungsschritte determiniert wird.
