A Framework for Visualisation in IT-based Management

  • Chapter
  • 506 Accesses

After the survey of the existing visualisations in the areas of business, computer science, and business informatics and the analysis of the approaches for creating these visualisations in the previous chapter a new way for the creation of visualisations will be presented in this chapter. The approach taken here will rely on some basic conceptions including a theoretical framework for procedures. Based on this framework a visualisation framework has been derived for integrating the different views that have so far been discussed in relation to visualisation. The core part of the framework which is directed towards the integration of a semantic view into the visualisation process will then be discussed in detail. The chapter will conclude with the presentation of a first prototype implementation that has been created for facilitating user interaction in this new visualisation environment.
