Abstract

In the light of the development of the global economy within the last 5 to 10 years, predicting its future progress has become increasingly difficult. Embedded in markets which are globally connected, organizations have to deal with the increasing complexity of doing business. The ease with which new competition can enter the market in formerly well-protected markets, the decreasing life cycles of technologies and products, and the near unpredictability of tomorrow's consumer tastes, are just a few examples of the current economy. Dealing with uncertainty and managing the relationship with such an environment successfully, is therefore a complex and difficult challenge for every organization.
