Bevor auf die Charakteristika von „Born Globals“ und ihr spezifisches Internationalisierungsmuster eingegangen wird, legt das nachfolgende Kapitel die theoretische Basis für diese Arbeit. Das Fundament bilden Theorien aus dem Strategischen Management und dem „International Business“. Jede dieser Theorien wird im nächsten Abschnitt zuerst in ihren zentralen Kernaussagen vorgestellt und abschließend auf ihr Erklärungspotential für die Internationalisierung von „Born Globals“ beurteilt.
