Abstract
The identification of the future potential of Software-as-a-Service for enterprise applications is considered as a crucial input for software companies' strategy development. Right now, there is a variety of SaaS solutions in the market, but experts repeatedly questioned the viability of the SaaS model. For example, Harry Debes, the CEO of the ERP software company Lawson, predicted in 2008, that the SaaS market will collapse in two years. Still today, the future market development for SaaS is uncertain
