Abstract
This chapter introduces the concept of corporate responsibility. It is structured into six sections. First, I give a brief overview of the various theories, concepts, and terms related to CR. Subsequently, I present these in detail: The secondsection presents the research field of corporate social responsibility; the thirdsection presents stakeholder theory; and section fourintroduces sustainable development and corporate sustainability. Section fivethen presents the terminologyfor the reminder of this work by relating the term CR to the other relevant terms used. After having defined CR on a high-level, finally, section sixgives on overview of more specific issuescovered by CR.
