Abstract
This chapter presents the main empirical patterns identified for the components of divestiture decision-making. Its structure diverges from the original structure specified for the research at the beginning of the study (Chapter 1.3, p.24). This is because it became clear during the investigation that this modified structure better mirrors the interrelations found in reality. Chapter 7.5. proposes institutional factors for explaining similarities in the components of divestiture decision-making (Chapter 7.5.1, p.200) and organizational factors for explaining differences (Chapter 7.5.2, p.208). The initial factors suggested in the framework for empirical examination (Figure 5.1, p.139) have been modified and extended where required according to the empirical findings. Figure 7.1. presents an overview of the patterns that will be presented in the following.
