Im Bereich Marketing und Management existiert eine Vielzahl komplexer Größen, die sich als subjektive, psychographische Variablen der objektiven und direkten Beobachtung entziehen (z. B. Produktinvolvement, Arbeitszufriedenheit). Solche latenten oder komplexen Variablen bezeichnet man auch als (theoretische) Konstrukte.
