Zusammenfassung
Die Erfindung des Dieselmotors durch Rudolf Diesel hat die industrielle Entwicklung des 20. Jahrhunderts entscheidend geprägt. Auch heutzutage finden Dieselmotoren noch in vielen Bereichen Anwendung und sind in naher Zukunft kaum zu ersetzen. Insbesondere in der Schifffahrt dient der Dieselmotor als Antriebskraft Nummer Eins. Trotz der technologischen Reife, die der Dieselmotor mittlerweile aufweist, sind Inno-vationen für Erfolg in der Branche unabdingbar.
