Organisationale Energie stellt ein bisher nur in Grundzügen erforschtes Phänomen dar. Trotz des Interesses an diesem Phänomen wird in der Literatur lediglich vage bzw. recht allgemein definiert, was unter Organisationaler Energie verstanden wird. Adams beispielsweise definiert Organisationale Energie als „human potential for action or accomplishment of work“. Ein erster Schritt zu einem grundlegenden Verständnis von Organisationaler Energie soll daher mit einer Konstruktdefinition erfolgen.
