Capacity for Change

A Crucial Factor to Firm Performance and Survival in the Automotive Industry

Zusammenfassung

After the crisis in 2008/2009 the automotive industry recovers rapidly to former state. Demand for cars in traditional markets like North America and Europe stabilize, while the increase in sales especially in new markets as Brazil, Russia, India and China (BRIC) continues. Despite these positive signs, the automotive industry is facing major challenges: changing consumption patterns, new competitors, volatile commodity prices, regulatory interventions and technological change in the transition to sustainable forms of mobility are only a few issues that automotive companies currently have to deal with.
