Abstract
Metro Cash & Carry, a retail brand and wholly-owned subsidiary of the Metro Group, is an international leading player in self-service wholesale. With over 670 locations in 31 countries and a turnover per year of approx. 30.6 billion EUR, Metro Cash & Carry is the biggest sales division of the Metro Group. The most important target groups for the wholesale company include catering companies and traders, such as restaurant and hotel operators, caterers, small grocery shops, hospitals, authorities, and service companies (Metro Group 2010a).
