Wurden in Kapitel 3 eine Bestandsaufnahme der Forschung vorgenommen, der Zusammenhang zwischen Aufgabe in der Organisation und Anforderungsprofil verdeutlicht sowie mögliche Inhalte für Controller-Anforderungsprofile aus der Controllingforschung gezeigt, so werden im Folgenden Theorien mit Erklärungsgehalt für das Anforderungsprofil selbst und damit für Erklärungen auf Antworten zu den Forschungsfragen dieser Arbeit vorgestellt.
