Ein vollständiges Marktprogramm, das hier schwerpunktmäßig aus Sicht der Absatzfunktion betrachtet werden soll, umfasst als konstitutive Elemente die Programmstruktur, das Objekt- und das Zielgruppenprogramm sowie die zielgruppenspezifische Objektpositionierung. Diese Komponenten werden durch Programmvorgaben als Verbindung mit den anderen Marketing-Teilfunktionen (bzw. -Unterfunktionen) und durch die Bestimmung eines Gesamtbudgets ergänzt. Den formalen Aufbau eines Marktprogramms gibt die nachfolgende Abbildung wieder.
