Abstract
Mit der Übernahme von 80,1 Prozent der Anteile von Chrysler beendete im August 2007 der amerikanische Finanzinvestor Cerberus endgültig die transatlantische Auto-Allianz DaimlerChrysler. Bei der Hauptversammlung vier Monate zuvor in Berlin hatte Konzernchef Dieter Zetsche noch gequält gelächelt, als Aktionäre mit bissigen Worten die Rückabwicklung der teuren Fusion verlangten. Die Deutschen hatten Chrysler für 36 Milliarden Dollar gekauft, bekamen neun Jahre später für die gleiche Firma nur 5,5 Milliarden Dollar. Die Ehe der zwei Autounternehmen endete damit als „gigantischer Flop“.
