Zusammenfassung
Marken sind ein zentraler Erfolgsfaktor für Unternehmen. Markenkrisen jedoch können Marken schwächen und schaden. Fehler im Produkt oder im Umgang mit ethischen Aspekten bilden typische Grundlagen von Markenkrisen. Medien transportieren Markenkrisenereignisse breitenwirksam und international. Zudem kann der Verbreitungseffekt durch Word-of-Mouth und soziale Medien noch verstärkt werden. Kommt es zu Markenkrisen, drohen negative Auswirkungen auf verhaltenswissenschaftliche und ökonomische Zielgrößen im Unternehmen. Wie man solche Auswirkungen möglichst gering hält, damit befasst sich dieses Kapitel. Dabei werden insbesondere Krisenprävention und Reaktionsstrategien angesprochen. Effektive Markenkrisenprävention liegt in der Vermeidung von Markenkrisengrundlagen, dem strategischen Markenaufbau, strategisch geplanter Markenportfoliostrukturierung sowie konsequenter Umsetzung. Im Fall einer Markenkrise müssen adäquate Reaktionsstrategien gewählt und umgesetzt werden. Proaktive Reaktionen können die Wirkungen von Markenkrisen eindämmen.
