Zusammenfassung
„Information and knowledge are the thermonuclear competitive weapons of our time.” (Stewart 1999, S. XIX). In diesem Satz von Thomas A. Stewart, der als Pionier auf dem Gebiet des Intellectual Capitals gilt, wird die Rolle immaterieller Ressourcen deutlich. Bereits seit Mitte der 1980iger Jahre findet das Ausmaß der Wert‐ und Gewinngenerierung durch „intellektuelles“ Potential (wie z.B. Wissen, Erfahrungen und Informationen) steigende Beachtung in Forschung und Praxis (Sullivan 2000). Insbesondere Unternehmen haben die Relevanz von immateriellen Faktoren für den Wertschöpfungsprozess wahrgenommen (vgl. Bontis, Dragonetti, Jacobsen, & Roos 1999, S. 392).
