Zusammenfassung

Mit dem fortschreitenden Prozess der Globalisierung von Wirtschaft und Gesellschaft gewinnt auch die Frage nach weltweit akzeptierten, anerkannten und erfolgreichen Führungseigenschaften und -verhaltensweisen an Bedeutung. Globalisierung wird dabei etwa mit Beck (1998: 29ff.) nicht nur als Prozess der weltweiten Verbreitung von Waren und Gütern oder Dienstleistungen verstanden, sondern vor allem auch als Prozess der Diffusion von Informationen, Ideen, Konzepten und Institutionen, und der Herausbildung transnationaler Institutionen und Strukturen. Globalisierung hinsichtlich der Führung zielt vor allem auf das Handeln von Managern und Mitarbeitern in transnationalen Kontexten, wie z.B. in internationalen Firmen und Arbeitsstrukturen (z.B. Gessner et al. 1999: XV, Mendenhall 2013: 18f., Osland et al. 2012b), ab.
