Abstract

The idea of having an objective third party supervising a sports contest is not an invention of modern times. Already the ancient Greeks instituted the occupation of so called “Hellanodicae” (hereinafter referred to as “Hellan-odics”) who were responsible for the supervision and administration of the Olympic Games.
